This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on matterlyt.com. We keep this minimal: most of our analytics are cookieless, our one cookie-based analytics tool (PostHog) is off until you consent, and the only other cookie-setting feature — the live chat — loads only when you choose to start a chat.
Strictly necessary
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|---|
| Session / security | Maintain session, security, load balancing | Matterlyt / Cloudflare |
Live chat (loaded only when you start a chat)
Our live chat is provided by Chatwoot. It is not loaded until you open it — when you start a chat, it sets a functional cookie to keep your conversation going. Because you've requested the chat, that cookie is necessary for the service you asked for, so no separate consent banner is shown. If you never open the chat, no chat cookie is set.
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chatwoot live-chat (cookie / localStorage) | Maintain the live-chat session and conversation continuity | Chatwoot Inc. (US) | Only after you open the chat |
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible and Ahrefs Web Analytics) that do not track you across sites or store personal identifiers, and which respect your browser's "Do Not Track" setting. These run without cookies and without asking for consent.
We also use PostHog, a product-analytics tool hosted in PostHog's EU Cloud (eu.i.posthog.com), to understand how the site is used and to record heatmaps (aggregated clicks and scrolling). PostHog uses cookies / local storage, so it is disabled by default and only starts after you consent.
| Technology | Purpose | Provider | Set when |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHog (cookie / local storage) | Product analytics & heatmaps to improve the site | PostHog Inc. (EU Cloud) | Only after you accept |
| Consent choice (local storage) | Remember your analytics choice so we don't ask again | Matterlyt | When you choose Accept or Decline |
Your choice
Visitors in the EU/EEA (and the UK and Switzerland) are shown a short analytics notice, and PostHog stays off until you click Accept. Elsewhere, PostHog analytics may run without a banner. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or by clearing this site's cookies and local storage in your browser.
